About the Consultation
What is the Urban Missions Consultation?
“Cities are not just growing — they are groaning for redemption.”
The Urban Missions Consultation is a strategic gathering focused on envisioning and equipping the Church for the urban and diaspora harvest. As cities grow and cultures converge, the need for intentional, Spirit-led engagement has never been greater.
It's a moment to reflect, learn, collaborate, and craft actionable strategies to engage cities — and the nations in them — for the Gospel.
Why Does This Matters?
- Over 54% of Nigerians now live in urban areas (compared to 40% just a decade ago). This is expected to exceed 60% by 2035.
- Diaspora movements are surging. Major Nigerian cities are home to large populations of unreached people groups.
- Urban youth and professionals are becoming increasingly unreached, despite living near churches and Christian institutions. There is an urgent need for discipleship in our cities.
- The Church has the capacity to engage these already ripe harvest and God is counting on us.
